Classes with Kristine
Online Seven-Month Foundations of Contemplation: A rare opportunity for guided practice.
This class is the first time being offered online. It is based on Kristine's book being released in 2027 that lays out the progress of practices for the Christian Contemplative tradition. The group will meet online twice a month from beginning of November 2026 through April 2027. This is not a book study. Participants will actually practice together, experiment with different approaches to silence, and have an opportunity to receive ongoing personal guidance based on their home practice experience.
Each chapter offers three possible doorways into contemplative practice: sitting, somatic practice, and walking. The intention is to make contemplative practice accessible both to people who are new to meditation and to experienced practitioners who may be looking for another way into silence.
One aspect of this project that is especially important to me is providing ways to practice that bring ease and joy for people with neurodivergence, chronic illness, post-trauma healing, or pain. I am also recovering something that has become quite rare in contemporary Christian life: sustained, personal guidance in contemplative practice. Participants will practice, share what they discover, receive guidance, and return to practice again. This kind of teacher-student relationship has deep roots in Christian monasticism and has also been central to my own formation through Buddhist practice.
This class is being offered in the Economy of Gifts tradition: Pay what you can, if you can. You may pay at any point during the class, or if you can't participate this round but still want to support this work, you may fill out the form to your left and request a Venmo code.
